Message processing actions

Many of MailWasher Server's anti-junk-mail features allow you to select the action to take when the feature determines an incoming message is junk mail. The actions are:

Action

Description

Accept

The message is accepted anyway, and not quarantined.

Accept with header addition

The message is accepted, but a special X-MailWasher-Marked header field is added to the message.

Most mail clients allow the user to set up filters to handle these messages differently, for example by filing them into a separate Junk folder. The message is not quarantined.

Reject with notification

The message is quarantined, and a customizable rejection notice email is sent back to the sender explaining that their message was blocked.

See How to customize the rejection notice message to customize the message.

Reject without notification

The message is quarantined, and the message is silently blocked. No message is send back to the sender.
