How to manage your quarantined email

The purpose of this task is to enable you to view, rescue or download your quarantined email messages. Quarantined messages are messages from addresses that appear on the Blacklist email address lists, or that have been matched by FirstAlert! or a realtime blackhole list service (RBL).

note Your system administrator may disable the rescue and/or download options.

Steps

Complete the following steps to manage your quarantined messages.

From the MailWasher Server home page menu, select Your Quarantined Email. The Your Quarantined Email page displays, with your quarantined messages in a list sorted from newest down to oldest.

note MailWasher Server only keeps quarantined messages for a certain length of time, so you should rescue or download any messages you want to keep.

If you have more than one page of quarantined messages, you can use the >>Next and << Prev links at the bottom of the page to move between them.

If you want to:

rescue a quarantined email, click Rescue next to the required message. A message page displays advising you that the message has been re-transmitted and will be available in your mail client soon.
download a quarantined email, click Download next to the required message. You can either select to open the message or save it to disk. The message is not sent to your inbox, so remember to save the message if you want to keep it.

note System administrators sometimes disable this option because they want to ensure that the message goes through virus scanning before it reaches your computer. If you don't see a Download option, rescue the message instead.
