MailWasher Server sends the following automated messages:

Message

Description

Rejection notices

When an email sent from an address on the Reject email address list is received, the message is blocked and a customizable rejection notice is sent back to the sender.

This also happens if the message is blocked because it is listed in a FirstAlert! category for which you have selected Reject with notification as the action, or because the sending server or domain is listed in an Realtime Blackhole List (RBL) for which you have selected Reject with notification as the action.

See How to customize the rejection notice message to customize this email.

Summary of Quarantined Messages

MailWasher Server sends each user a list of the messages quarantined for them at the frequency specified in the quarantined message options.

See How to configure message quarantining to customize this email.

New Account Created

By default, when a message addressed to an email address not listed for any of the MailWasher Server accounts you have set up is quarantined, a new MailWasher Server account is created. MailWasher Server will then send the owner of the new account a customizable email giving them their username and password for their new account.

See How to configure message quarantining to customize this email.

Note that no email is sent when accounts are created manually, using the web interface.

Notification of junk email submission email incorrect

When MailWasher Server intercepts a message to the configurable junk mail submission email address but finds no submission attached to the message, it sends a configurable reply back explaining that the user must forward the junk mail as an attachment.

See How to configure junk mail submissions to customize this email.
